Seeking: Brinnon home to buy and put roots down for a single income teacher’s salary

Short Story: I am a 5-12 ELA teacher at the Brinnon Elementary School. I am a single mother raising 5 boys in the community. Two of my children have recently gone to college and come home during the holidays and summer. I have come to know many people here and have made a decision to stay as a career move. It is challenging to live here in the post-covid19 economy. Brinnon has no grocery store, limited internet access, and the bad driving conditions in the winter over Mount Walker, especially for teens who play sports and go to school in Quilcene. Given all that, the struggles have brought us all together; and I would prefer to remain in Brinnon.

Location: Port Townsend

Tennants: 1

Number of Bedrooms: Studio, 1

Pets: 1 mature cat

Occupation: Housekeeper

What makes you a great tennant?: I am prompt paying my rent, respectful of your property, considerate of how I impact others if in a shared space, and overall, a solid individual who can carry on a decent conversation if desired.

I eat at least one meal at the hospital so I don’t do a lot of cooking. I moved up here in early 2020 to live with my sister and rented a room in her home. It worked out very well for us and she felt that I was respectful of her home. She passed away in early October and I have since moved into temporary quarters as of February, 2023. I would ideally like to rent a studio for just me and my senior cat but it may not be affordable. I have much experience sharing spaces with others respectfully. Who am I in the community? Right now I’m mostly a worker keeping the hospital habitat clean and safe for the patients and staff. Otherwise, I appreciate and listen to local radio, am presently taking the Restorative Yoga class at Madrona Mind Body studio and like to hear live music and theater when time and my budget permit. I do so enjoy the beautiful outdoors and kind people here as well.

What makes you a great tennant?: tidy and conscientious

Short Story: We moved here in 2019 and I accepted a dvm position with a local clinic. We tried to purchase a home during COVID, but the market was bonkers. We’ve recently returned and are in a temporary rental while I help out at the clinic which had to close multiple days due to having no dvm.
